Now you thought Taken 3 was bad for their infamous multiple cuts per second, well they have nothing on Resident Evil which in many cases as Alice start, then a blur of cuts and then everyone is dead with no relation to each other. The big issue with Resident Evil is not whether or not it related to the source material well, because at this point they are almost completely divergent from each other, but how well it fairs as an action flick and as an action flick it is a case study in bad action cinematography/editing.

And "Red Queen" is also designed based on her as a kid. She met the original who is actually about 90 years old. When Alice get to the end, she find out she is not the original. They all decide to go to the Hive together, but on the way there they lose people to monsters, and Hive traps.
Upon entrance of Raccoon City, she gets stopped by Claire Redfield, etc (good guys) They defeat Dr Isaacs/Armored Tank and the horde of zombies. She defeats Dr Isaacs and took his bike into Raccoon City. in like an Armored tank vehicle and fought with them, while there's a horde of zombies chasing her. So, she does that, along the way she fight some flying creatures with a Jeep? She investigates some place which has the "Red Queen" computer telling her go back to Hive in Raccoon City to save everyone. No bodies of Jill, Ada, etc are shown at all. The movies literally change every time by re-writing what was supplied as fact in the previous film(s). Once everyone is dead on the surface, they release a Deus Ex Machina to kill the virus, and rebuild society with their chosen survivors in stasis. We learn that it was not the AI, but Umbrella themselves who initiated the outbreak to cleanse the world. It ends with Wesker injecting her with something to give her abilities back, telling her she's their last weapon against the AI.įinal Chapter opens with a monologue that everything was a trap by Wesker, including the injection. Wesker (who survived the nuke from Afterlife) is trying to break her out of captivity, because actually, this entire time, the AI from the first game was actually the source of the outbreak, and was using the T-virus to destroy humanity. It ends with Alice being attacked by Umbrella. This is more of a side-story, which ends with the main villain somehow surviving a nuke from a few feet away. Extinction ends with Alice finding out she's the original template for line of clones Umbrella was hoping to weaponize to fight the infection, awakening other clones and hunting down Umbrella.Īfterlife opens with said attack, all the clones die, and the original loses her psychic and super abilities. What's left of Umbrella is trying to rebuild or trying to find a way to stop or re-purpose the infection (literal exposition from the movie).
At the end of RE2, the outbreak is contained (with a fucking nuke).Įxtinction opens with 'we know we said it was contained, but it actually spread and killed the entire world. Retribution and Final Chapter all seem to occur over the course of at most a week, with Final Chapter beginning the day after Retribution since Wesker has only just arrived at the Hive when the Red Queen contacts Alice (the journey from Washington to Raccoon City could only take a day at most).įor the movies, in RE1 and Apocalypse, the outbreak in the lab and Raccoon City are 100% accidental/sabotage (which is in line with the original games). At the end of Final Chapter, Alice intends to go back to Washington to get her. Alice's "daughter" Becky however survived due to Alice moving her to a safe room before the battle with enough supplies to last for a long while.
Wesker only pretended to give Alice her powers back and killed Jill before fleeing, while Leon and Ada were killed by Umbrella's BOW army. The story about the Red Queen being in control of Umbrella and planning to kill all life on Earth was a lie (and really Alice should have known better than to trust anything Wesker says). The novelisation expands on this and explains that Clone-Isaacs and Wesker planned it to gather anyone who could be a threat to Umbrella in one place to kill them all (this is why Clone-Isaacs tells Wesker he failed since Alice, the biggest threat to Umbrella, is still alive). The film says the "last stand" was a trap and Wesker betrayed them - Alice reveals this in the prologue and the Red Queen repeats it later.
